Abstract

One of the primary problems that the Concept for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-2030 aims to solve is the slow pace of diversification in the crop production industry. Monoculture prevails in the main grain-growing regions of the country. Insufficient attention is paid to the development of forage production. At the same time, accelerating the pace of real diversification is necessary in order to increase the workload of processing enterprises, increase the volume of exports of competitive products, expand the feed base of the livestock industry, which implies optimization (reduction) of the area of monocultures, water-intensive crops (rice, cotton) and the expansion of alternative highly profitable crops (oilseeds, legumes, cereals, grain forage, vegetables and melons, forage, etc.), which will contribute to an increase in their production.

Diversification of production will be ensured by intensifying explanatory work among land users, strengthening control over compliance with land legislation requirements and will provide for an increase in the production of highly profitable, popular crops, which will also be aimed at import substitution and saturation of the domestic market. Thus, memorandums on diversification of acreage of agricultural crops will be concluded between the akimats of the regions, the National Research Scientific and Educational Center and the Ministry of Agriculture, which will provide specific indicators for the areas of the main agricultural crops, including oilseeds (sunflower, soybeans, safflower, flax, etc.), grain feed (barley, oats, etc.), legumes (corn, peas, etc.), forage and other crops [1].

The article presents an assessment of the effectiveness, relevance, current state of the level of diversification, as well as the dynamics of the structure of sown areas in the districts of the North Kazakhstan region, an assessment of the world experience of the effectiveness of diversification in similar soil and climatic conditions, proposals for production based on the conducted research work, the experience of basic and advanced farms
