Physical efficiency of 17-20-year old students during the academic year was investigated. The evaluation of physical efficiency was conducted by PWC170 method based on veloergometer load. Cardiovascular system parameters were registrated at rest, after physical loading and at the period of rehabilitation. It was found out that at the beginning of the academic year physical efficiency was higher in young males at the age of 18 than at the age of 17, while that of young females was approximately the same. At the end of the academic year physical efficiency and comparative VO2 max went down in all age groups of young males. At the
same time the increase of young females’ physical efficiency at the end of the academic year emphasizes high plasticity of female’s organism to internal and external environment.
