This paper presents a brief analysis of the history of agriculture in northern Kazakhstan, and also highlights the problems and prospects for the development of precision farming. The researchers presented the results of environmental testing of spring wheat varieties of Chinese breeding in the climatic conditions of Northern Kazakhstan, namely in the following geographical points: North Kazakhstan, Akmola and Karaganda regions. As a result of the research, an assessment was made of the ecological plasticity and stability of these varieties on the basis of the "grain yield". The level of yield of varieties of Chinese selection in some examples (Xn02, Xn09, Xn10, Xn11, Xn12, Xn13) exceeded the level of yield of varieties of Kazakhstan selection from 0.1 ts/ha to 5 ts/ha. As a standard, a variety of spring soft wheat Karaganda 22 and Astana was used. Ecological study of varieties of spring wheat was carried out according to the method of state variety testing of agricultural crops.
