Analysis of feed quality, development and optimization of goat feeding rations using the “Korall” digital program

Abstract
Background and Aim. One of the main challenges in practical goat farming is the inadequate balancing of diets in terms of energy, protein, amino acids, macro- and micronutrients. This is due to the variability of feed chemical composition, the seasonal nature of feed supply and the limited use of modern analytical methods and digital technologies for diet formulation. Imbalanced diets that fail to meet the physiological needs of animals lead to decreased productivity, impaired reproductive performance, slower growth in young animals and increased feed costs per unit of output.
The study also benefited from the active introduction of digital technologies in livestock farming, enabling automated feed quality assessment and ration balancing. The use of specialized software allows for more accurate calculations of animals’ nutrient requirements, rapid adjustment of dietsand increased feed efficiency.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the chemical composition and nutritional value of feed used on
farms and to develop balanced diets for goats of various age and gender groups and physiological states using specialized software.
Materials and methods. The research was conducted at the “Agrofirma Akzhar Ondіris” LLР farm in the Mays district of the Pavlodar Region. Samples of the main feeds used on the farm were collected to assess the feed supply. During the study, the feeds were analyzed, including the determination of dry matter content, crude protein, fat, fiber, metabolizable energy, and macro- and micronutrients. Based on the obtained data, goat feeding rations were formulated using the "Korall" software to meet the animals’ physiological needs.
Results. Based on laboratory data, the “Coral” digital program was used to analyze the diets of breeding bucks, does, and young goats. It was found that the diets generally meet the animals’ metabolizable energy requirements; however, deficiencies in certain trace minerals (Cu, Zn, Co, I) and vitamins A, D, and E. To optimize feeding, the use of mineral-vitamin premixes is recommended. The use of the “Coral” program made it possible to improve the accuracy of diet assessment and develop recommendations for improving goat productivity and feeding efficiency.
Conclusion. The study results showed that the use of digital methods for calculating feed rations allows diets to be balanced more accurately in terms of energy, protein and amino acids, improved nutrient digestibility and optimal goat productivity.
