Abstract

This article presents the results of breeding work to create a new, early-ripening, highly productive soybean variety, EURASIA. The variety was obtained by individual selection from the L. 443/L. 214 hybrid population, followed by individual selection. According to the results of competitive variety trials (2021-2023), the growing season was 99 days, the average yield was 20.3 c/ha, the 1000-seed weight was 162.7 g, the protein content was 38.6%, and the fat content was 20.1%. The growth habit is determinant, the plant height is 78-85 cm, the lower bean attachment is 11-12 cm. The variety is resistant to plant lodging, cracking of beans and a range of major diseases. In 2023, the EURASIA variety was submitted to the State Commission for Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the results of State Variety Testing on variety plots in 2024-2025, the variety confirmed its high adaptability: the average yield at the Altai State Variety Testing Station (East Kazakhstan region) was 30.9 c/ha, the Sairam Complex State Variety Testing Station (Turkestan region) – 32.4 c/ha, and the Karabulak State Variety Testing Station (Zhetysu region) – 23.9 c/ha. In production trial at LLP «Pilot Farm of Oil Plants» (East Kazakhstan region), the average yield was 37.3 c/ha, with the maximum yield achieved in 2025 at 42.0 c/ha and with a 1000-seed weight of 211.7 g. The EURASIA variety has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements recommended for use in the Republic of Kazakhstan from 2026 (Potent № 1253) and is recommended for use in the East Kazakhstan, Turkestan, and Zhetysu regions by decision of the State Commission.
