Abstract

This article presents materials on the results of completed perennial fisheries research on the Nura River, starting from its headwaters and downstream - the confluence of the river flow into the drainless saline lake Tengiz of Korgalzhyn State
Nature Reserve (GNR). The studies covered the morphometric parameters of the river itself and its main lake systems. Indicators of analyzes of the hydrochemical regime of the river and lake systems do not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) established for fishery bodies of water, and are favorable for the habitat of aquatic organisms. Particular attention was paid to the hydrological regime of water bodies, one of the main factors that determine the state of development of the natural food supply and, accordingly, the fish productivity of water bodies, as well as the conditions for the reproduction of fish resources. The main groups of food organisms for fish (zooplankton, zoobenthos) that make up the basis of nutrition for most species of commercial fish have been determined. On the basis of studying the species composition of commercial fish, as well as the status of their populations, a forecast of fish catch is presented both along the river and in lake systems.
